Bayliner has been lucky to grow with one of the strongest marine dealer networks in the world since 1957. It started with a visionary dealer in Orin Edson at Advanced Outboard Marine in Seattle, Washington and has grown to a network of over 400 dealer locations in over 70 countries worldwide.
Over the years, many of our dealers have been recognized as major contributors to their towns and cities as well as the marine industry overall. Over the course of nearly 55 years, there have been many boom and many bust times, and our dealer network has remained strong throughout. In this last downturn alone, Bayliner added over 50 dealers in 18 months, strengthening customer support in markets we thought it was necessary.
It is this attention to building a network of the best dealers that has led to our third year in a row of receiving the NMMA Customer Satisfaction award and a second year in a row being one of the most highly ranked networks recognized by Boating Industry Magazine's Top 100 Dealer award.
In addition to awards for our overall network, several dealers have received individual acknowledgements as well. Barb Woodard, Owner and Accessories Manager of 14th ranked Woodard Marine, in Hydeville, Vt., also earned the MRAA's Darlene Brigg's Marine Woman of the Year Award recognizing devoted service, unwavering commitment and the advancement of women in the marine industry.
Two Bayliner dealers from Canada earned Best In Class recognition from Boating Industry: M & P Mercury Sales Ltd. in Burnaby, B.C. for Best Succession Plan and George's Marine & Sports, Ottawa, Ont., for Best Employee Development Strategy.
Several of our dealers have also either completed or begun the process to be Brunswick Certified, a program that reviews the overall business and sales and service processes and practices of a dealership. To be certified, a dealer must pass several rigorous guidelines Brunswick, Bayliner's parent company, believes constitute a dealer focused on customer service, satisfaction and long-term business stability.
